NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme.
To mark its 35th anniversary since incorporation and 25 years of successful operations, NLNG has launched a special edition of its Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (UGSS) for students from its host communities. This initiative aims to support outstanding students by offering financial assistance to help them complete their undergraduate education at public universities in Nigeria.
NLNG is committed to creating an inclusive scholarship program and warmly invites applications from all eligible indigene of its host communities, including Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs).
Eligibility Criteria for the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme:

- Citizenship: Must be a Nigerian citizen and an indigene of any of NLNG’s Host Communities.
- University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Nigerian federal or state-owned university for an undergraduate program.
- O-Level Requirements: Must have at least five O-Level credits, including Mathematics and English, in one sitting (WASC, SSCE, or NECO).
- UTME Score: Must have scored a minimum of 200 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
- Course of Study: Must be a full-time student currently admitted to study Engineering, Computer Science/Information Technology, Environmental, or Geoscience courses at a Nigerian federal or state university.
- Academic Performance: Must have maintained a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) in all academic years prior to applying and continue to meet this standard throughout the scholarship period.
- Age Requirement: Must be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of application.
- Other Scholarships: Must not be a recipient of any other scholarship, bursary, or grant from another organization.
- Family Relationship: Must not be a spouse, child, ward, or direct relative of any NLNG staff.
- Community Verification: Must provide a valid identification letter from the relevant host community and Local Government Council.

To apply for the NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme, follow these steps carefully:
- Registration:
- Use your personal, registered email address and mobile number to apply.
- Document Preparation: Ensure you have clear, scanned copies of the following documents for upload:
- Recent passport photograph (white background, 450px by 450px, no larger than 200kb)
- O-Level and UTME results
- University and JAMB Admission letters
- University student ID card
- National Population Commission-issued birth certificate
- Local Government Area (LGA) letter of identification
- National ID Number (NIN) slip
- Academic transcripts from 100 level to the latest academic year, signed and stamped by the university’s appropriate authority
- Community letter of identification signed by a Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman or paramount ruler/king
- Document Naming:
- Name your documents appropriately to match what they represent (e.g., “Passport_Photo,” “OLevel_Results”) to avoid confusion.
- Uploading Documents:
- Ensure the correct documents are uploaded when prompted.
- Check the quality and clarity of each scanned document before uploading.
- Verify the documents after uploading to ensure accuracy.
- Application Process:
- Step 1: Click on “Register” to create an account with your personal email address.
- Step 2: Check your inbox to activate your account.
- Step 3: Log in with your registered email and password to upload your details.
- Step 4: Fill in your personal information, educational details, and other required information.
- Step 5: Upload the necessary scanned documents.
- Step 6: Make sure the name entered on the application matches the name on your documents exactly, in the same order.
- Step 7: Review all uploaded documents to eliminate any errors.
- Step 8: Upload a passport photo with a white background when prompted.
- Step 9: Recheck all application details before submitting.
- Final Submission:
- Once you are confident that all information is accurate, click “Apply Now” to submit your application.
- You will receive a confirmation email once your application is successfully submitted.
