The University of Wyoming (UW) introduces the Brown and Gold Commitment Scholarship 2025, a merit-based financial aid program designed for first-time international freshman students. This scholarship seeks to reward academic excellence and enhance access to higher education for students from around the world.
Scholarship Benefits
The Brown and Gold Commitment Scholarship offers two funding levels based on the applicant’s cumulative GPA:
- $8,000 per year for students with a GPA between 3.4 and 4.0.
- $5,000 per year for students with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.39.
Renewable Scholarship Benefits
These scholarships can be renewed for up to eight semesters or until the recipient completes their first bachelor’s degree. Funded by the generosity of UW Foundation donors and institutional aid, this program enables awardees to concentrate on academic success while receiving financial support.

To be eligible for the Brown and Gold Commitment Scholarship, applicants must:

- Apply for admission to UW and pay the non-refundable $40 application fee.
- Submit official high school or secondary school transcripts.
- Provide English proficiency test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo).
- Complete the UW Confidential Financial Statement.
- Confirm enrollment by 11:59 pm MDT on August 1, 2025.
Students who submit their final cumulative unweighted GPA by the first day of their incoming semester may be eligible for an increase in their award level, depending on available funding.
Renewal Criteria
To retain the scholarship, students must:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at UW.
- Enroll full-time with at least 12 semester hours during the fall and spring semesters.
- Successfully complete 24 credit hours each academic year.
